Easter Egg Hunt

we had such a great time this morning at the easter egg hunt at kingwood high school.
unfortunately, patrick came down with a 104 fever last night which ended up being from tonsillitis and an ear my precious mother in law came out and helped me with the kiddos. it was a perfect morning for it, and jett loved it.

field for 1 and 2 year olds.
a bit overwhelmed by it all...but ready to hunt for "eggos"
silly boy.
harper was great as always.
my precious boy.

"i want to be a tiger."
"i want it off!" not a fan after realizing what his face looked like.
i don't want to ever forget this adorable baby face.

happy easter!
hope everyone has a special day as we celebrate our risen Savior!

4 Months!

Harper Joy is already 4 months old! I can't believe it! She weighs 14.5 lbs which is the 67th percentile for weight, and she is 26 inches long which puts in the 97th percentile for height! She is such an INCREDIBLE baby and we fall more and more in love with her every day.
Here is our sweet pea at 4 months.

So Harper Has Glasses...

This cutie-pa-tootie will be sportin' these glasses for at least the next several months. Our pediatrician noticed at her 2 month check up that her eyes tend to go he referred us to an ophthalmologist and basically her eyes need to be strengthened. So the plan is for her to wear these adorable glasses in hopes that the prescription in them will strengthen her eye muscles, and eventually, not have to wear the glasses anymore. It could take several months or a couple of years for her eyes to have the strength needed. If the glasses don't work then there is a muscle surgery that can be performed. So we are obviously praying that these glasses work and surgery can be prevented.

I may be biased, but isn't she still so adorable?

Steady My Heart

To say the has been a crazy couple of days. We are in the process of buying our first house, which is extremely exciting, but at the same time a lot of work, time, and patience that we are putting into it. We found out yesterday that Harper is going to have to sport some super cute pink glasses for a while to correct her eyes. And to add just one more thing to my plate, for the first time in who knows how long I got in a minor wreck that was, of course, my fault.

This morning I woke up from a restless night due to thinking about the offer we placed on the house yesterday and sweet Harper's eyes...constantly praying that the Lord's will be done in regards to the house, and also that these glasses will correct Harper's eyes and surgery will be prevented. I left the house with a heavy heart and headed up to the gym which eventually led to that minor wreck that I could have done without. It quickly became one of those moments when I was just throwing the question "why?" around in my head. And before I could feel sorry for myself any longer, I was reminded of Kari Jobe's "Steady My Heart". That quickly became my prayer. God, STEADY MY HEART. YOU are in control. YOU are faithful. I can always trust YOU when life gets messy. I am beyond grateful for a God who can wrap his peace around me in the midst of my silly chaotic life. Steady my heart, those three powerful words, are so comforting for me to pray. It's my prayer that when we all get overwhelmed with different circumstances of life, that we can just remember that GOD is in complete control, and just ask him to STEADY YOUR HEART. You will be blessed. I hope these lyrics bless you as much as they have blessed me.

Wish it could be easy
Why is life so messy
Why is pain a part of us
There are days I feel like
Nothing ever goes right
Sometimes it just hurts so much

But You're here
You're real
I know I can trust You

Even when it hurts
Even when it's hard
Even when it all just falls apart
I will run to You
Cause I know that You are
Lover of my soul
Healer of my scars
You steady my heart

I'm not gonna worry
I know that You got me
Right inside the palm of your hand
Each and every moment
What's good and what gets broken
Happens just the way that You plan

And I will run to You
You're my refuge in Your arms
And I will sing to You
Cause of everything You are

You steady my heart

2 Months!

Harper turned 2 months in January! And had a great check-up at the doctor along with her first full round of shots : ( ....none the less, we all survived. Harper weighed in at 11 lbs 13 oz and she is 23.5 in long. That puts her in the 75th percentile for weight, and the 86th percentile for height. She is such a great sleeper which is the complete opposite of Jett when he was her age. She wakes up once at night for a feeding. I am so not use to this...Jett did this at like 10 months. Needless to say, I am extremely grateful for her mad sleeping skills.
Here is our happy baby girl at 2 months!

Jett's First Fishing Trip

We recently discovered this beautiful area near our house that is filled with trails that take you to down to Lake Houston. Patrick and Jett have taken a few bike rides down to the lake, so today we decided to take Jett fishing. We let him choose his very own fishing pole this morning, and after nap time we took off on our first fishing trip as a family. This boy probably walked/ran over a mile all the way to the lake. He had a blast and did a great job casting his rubber fish in the water and then reeling the little fish in, until the fish unfortunately fell off on his last cast.
Jett said the fish was with his family now. :)
